The centre started as a dream to develop the site of the old 1950s Rank Hall into an accessible and flexible community building in the heart of the town. We wanted to provide a safe and modern environment to serve people living or working in Reigate, which had no centrally located meeting rooms apart from the old Hall.
Our aim was to provide these facilities for all members of the community from the youngest to the oldest, with an emphasis on those most in need. And by making it suitable for business users as well, we envisioned the centre becoming financially self-sustaining.
This vision was worked on over several years from 2002, and in conjunction with our architect, concrete plans and costings were produced, enabling fundraising and the planning application process to start.
